Introducing the PTTS-892B

The Position Transmitter Test Set, Model 892B, is a small portable test set designed to rig and troubleshoot electronic flight control systems on any commercial airplane in the world. New creative design features and capabilities have eliminated the need for having additional pieces of expensive test equipment, thus resulting in up to half the cost of using conventioanl methods.

The design features and capabilities of the Model 892B is well suited to rig or troubleshoot various flight control systems, such as the spoiler command unit, power control unit, elevators, throttle lever angle (TLA) resolvers, autopilot servos, etc. With its versatility and user-friendly features, it can easily and quickly meet all your rigging test needs.

The Position Transmitter Test Set, Model PTTS 892B currently is approved and used by Boeing on their new aircraft production lines.

PTTS-892B, Why Should We Buy? Pros and Cons...

AERO INFO, INC. is pleased to present the best tester for flight control rigging ever seen.

Aero Info, Inc. wants you to know just how "feature-friendly" this system is - we are providing a checklist of user benefits to allow maintenance facilities to reach some obvious conclusions.

User Benefits

1. Replaces laborious multiple equipment hook-ups and hassles. (Replaces AC power supply, breakout box, angle position indicator (API), Digital Voltmeter (DVM), and costly North Atlantic Phase Angle Voltmeter (PAV).

2. Capable of being used as a portable unit (for AOG troubleshooting with no power available).

3. Very simple, less than one hour in-house recertification (no down time).

4. Useful for onboard as well as bench test applications.

5. With recertification in-house your company saves the time and money.

6. Very simple, fast, easy-to-use color-coded cable selection.

7. Quickly provides a redundant check of CMC system accuracy (1/10th of a degree), and some maintenance procedures which require 1/100th a degree accuracy

8. Provides for degrees or in-phase voltage measurements.

9. Completely eliminates the need for "probing" individual connector components.

10. Can be used on virtually all commercial and military aircraft at almost any location.

11. Manual selection between various sensors: LVDT's, RVDT's, Synchros and Resolvers.

12. Universal power input: 100-250 VAC @ 47-440 Hz

13. Reduces operator errors.

Please Note: Some facilities may choose to assemble their own cable sets. Portability will require a separate battery source. The Bird Box is approximately one half the purchase price of the multiple components it replaces!

Applications for the Bird Box are as follows:

  • Autopilot Servos
  • Throttle Lever Angles
  • Power Control Units
  • Elevators
  • Laterals
  • Speed Brake Levers
  • Spoiler Actuators
  • Lab and field testing

The intrinsic beauty of this design is a fast and easy-to-use tester that saves maintenance personnel time and hassle.
